Here is an old concept of mine that I decided to flesh out in 3D. I used the usual suspects to create my shaolin monkey: Zbrush, 3ds max, and of course, Photoshop. He was modeled from low poly objs and some zbrush primatives. The diffuse textures were poly-painted in zbrush. The other textures were created in PS.
He was rendered in mental ray in passes, and comped and touched up in PS.
